-Wendi L. Dumbroff discusses many aspects of sex therapy-
Wendi L. Dumbroff, MA, LPC, was recently featured as a guest on the “I Do” podcast, hosted by Chase and Sarah Kosterlitz. During the show, Wendi discussed some of the reasons why couples seek sex therapy and how they can benefit from it.
Dumbroff clarifies that sex therapy is “talk” therapy where patients have the freedom to discuss any sexual issues they face either individually or as a couple.
Wendi suggests that seeking sex therapy can help couples work through their issues as well as expand their “sexual menus”. She introduces the concept of ‘willingness’ when someone may not be in the mood for sex. As she further states, “If you can start with willingness, then often desire follows.”
