Wendi L. Dumbroff, MA, LPC, was featured on the “Couples Therapy in Seven Words,” podcast with Hosts Dr. Bruce Chalmer and Judy Alexander.
In conversation with Bruce and Judy, Wendi emphasizes the importance of mindfulness and couples therapy blending. She explains mindfulness is about “awareness in the present moment, what is happening right now without judgment.”
In her practice, Wendi observes interactions between couples and focuses on how partners react to each other. She advises, “Awareness of what is happening gives you the wisdom of choice.”
In the second half of the interview, Wendi dives into the vulnerability cycle. A key role in her methodology:
“The vulnerablilty cycle forms the basis of all the couples work I do. The vulnerability cycle provides an illustration of how couples interact with each other.”
