Wendi L. Dumbroff, MA, LPC, was recently a guest on the ‘Billionaire Lifestyle Podcast. Hosted by Emmitt Muckles, their conversation covered a wide range of topics from what brings people to a couple and sex therapist to the practice of mindfulness meditation.
Muckles began the show by focusing attention on our global pandemic. Dumbroff shed light on the importance of mindfulness and opening oneself to ‘moment to moment’ awareness. Especially during times of crisis. Taking a pause and living in that current moment. She spoke of what could come of that moment to moment awareness:
It opens up space, within that space is where we get control over our emotions versus the emotions having control over us.
Discussion then flowed to an array of situations that bring people to seek couple and sex therapy. Dumbroff shared there are various reasons; some common ones are discrepant desire, where one partner wants sex more than the other to the other end of the spectrum where a couple is no longer engaging in sex or intimacy.
