– Wendi L. Dumbroff speaks of methods to survive abuse and abandonment –

Wendi L. Dumbroff, MA, LPC, was recently featured on Wake Up With Marci where she discussed surviving abuse and abandonment. The host shared her own story about abuse  and her recovery.   Now she is in a happy marriage but admits it took time to achieve. Dumbroff stated:

When we meet someone, we do a certain dance with our partners.  You bring your experience and your husband brings his into a relationship and a dynamic is created. Sometimes, what one person does might trigger the other person and what the other person then does in response can trigger their partner back.   This may lead to an endless loop or cycle and affects the relationship between them. Therapy can help partners understand their cycles and then work on them.
