– Wendi L. Dumbroff highlights strategies to get over post-holiday blues –

Wendi L. Dumbroff, MA, LPC, was recently featured on Martha Stewart Weddings where she discussed ways to help your partner bounce back after experiencing the holiday blues.  For some people, it is hard to rebound after the festivities come to an end. Yet, there are things one can do to help a partner who is having a difficult time post-holiday. Dumbroff was quoted saying:

It’s best to come from a place of compassion.  When you are ‘listening to listen’ rather than ‘listening to respond,’ people ‘feel heard’.  Allow your partner’s feelings to be there, hear their experience, validate them, and the simple act of just being with them in their pain is more than you can imagine.
